Hi Woh3. I agree that faith is a valuable human experience and I believe it is valued by Humanism. But my own opinion is that religious faith is misguided. People believe that by having faith in the bible is having Faith in God. I contend that having faith in anything written by man is having faith in man.

Well written. I believe that people have the right to do whatever they want, just as long as their actions do not infringe on the rights and freedoms of other human beings.

I have problems with sending my answers in the review. I have tried several times and it failed...

woh3 - this is a good question but I think Humanism apreciate the value of experiencing of the mystery of life. But it just does not call it God. I have noticed for instance a great respect for humans need of ceremonies and you can perform the rites of passage in secular way etc. I suppose that the word "faith" is used here in its nagative meaning - to belive without any reflection. Forgive me my english, I live in Norway:)

This program got me thinking! Thanks!!
There is no FINAL truth, it evolves through each individual's contribution to creation. We are our own creation...we create by existing,....but there is so much more than just existance with absolutes. It is our humanity that is to be pursued, for this IS our greatest asset!

This is fascinating, and even though I thoroughly consider myself a scientific and rational person, I have come to understand that human experience is greater than what human language and science can describe. Faith is a human experience that has been abused and channeled to the needs of religious institutions in the past, but is still a valuable human experience, and it seems it is denoted in a slightly negative light here. There is a reason that we also use that word to symbolize trust and fidelity. Joseph Campbell said that "God is a metaphor for the great mystery of life", what has Humanism done to dispel or frame the great mystery of life? Is it gone forever and we will no longer need to discuss it or have a symbol for its meaning?
